Not covered in detail are: group tutorials, a short course on academic writing to doctoral and masters students at ucl and mit, teaching and support for students at ucl while a PhD student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Curriculum Review<\/strong>: Urban Spatial Science 2021<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conducted audit of casa\u2019s teaching portfolio and, through consultation with all academic staff, helped steer a restructuring of programmes and modules to reduce overlap, give students greater flexibility, and allow for staff sabbaticals\/leave in a more flexible manner. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Module Lead<\/strong>: Foundations of Spatial Data Science 2020\u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shifted module focus from \u2018intro to programming\u2019 towards critical engagement with the spatial data analytics pipeline. Use of Docker\/Podman, Jupyter and Quarto to teach, EDA, ESDA, and basic NLP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Curriculum Design &amp; Development<\/strong>: Geocomputation &amp; Spatial Analysis Pathway 2013\u20132020<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Developed &amp; launched unique \u2018geocomputation pathway\u2019 for undergraduate students.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Series of three modules (plus optional \u2018Code Camp\u2019) designed to address skills gaps in geography.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Substantial impact on students undertaking quantitative research and using gis in 3<sup>rd<\/sup> year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Module Co-ordinator<\/strong>: Geographical Research Skills 2014\u20132020<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oversee module aims and coordinate contributions from teaching staff (BA\/BSc Geography).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The main \u2018methods\u2019 module for 160+ 2<sup>nd<\/sup> year undergradate students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Commended by external examiners on basis of structure, organisation, and delivery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Module Lead:<\/strong> Advanced Quantitative &amp; Spatial Methods in Human Geography 2013\u20132020<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oversee module aims and coordinate contributions from teaching staff (MSc Geography).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Joint Lecturer<\/strong>: Geocomputation 2015\u20132020<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lecture on statistics and programming (BA\/BSc Geography).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Joint Lecturer<\/strong>: Applied Geocomputation 2016\u20132020<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lecture on clustering methods as part of module (BA\/BSc Geography).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Joint Lecturer<\/strong>: Current Research\/Geography in Action 2013\u20132020<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lecture on \u2018big data\u2019, bias and privacy (BA\/BSc Geography).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lecturer<\/strong>: Advanced Quantitative &amp; Spatial Methods in Human Geography 2013\u20132020<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lecture on visualisation, statistics &amp; spatial analysis (MSc Creative Cities; MSc Geography).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Twice nominated for King\u2019s Teaching Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Joint Supervisor<\/strong>: San Francisco Field Trip 2013\u20132020<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organise project-based and related activities for up to 45 students (BA Geography).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Joint Lecturer<\/strong>: Spatial Analysis 2015\u20132017<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lecture on advanced topics in spatial statistics and programming (BA\/BSc Geography).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Joint Lecturer<\/strong>: Urban Geography 2014\u20132017<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lecture on cities, regions, innovation &amp; location (BA Geography).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Joint Lecturer:<\/strong> Practicing Geographical Inquiry 2013\u20132016<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lecture on translation of theory into data collection &amp; survey design (BA\/BSc Geography).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Worked with London food market managers to link teaching to real-world research.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Below are my most recent and relevant teaching commitments.
